Itanagar: A men’s army died and four others were injured critically when their truck fell into the canyon in the afternoon of Arunachal Pradesh on Wednesday morning, officials said.
Army vehicles, bringing 11 personnel, on our way to the army camp in the district of the transit camp in migging, they said.
The truck fell into the canyon between the pango and tiping around 7.10 in the morning while negotiating a hilly path, said Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Starlie Jamoh.
“A Jawan of the 4th light infantry regiment died in place.
The others were injured and four of them were very important,” he said, quoting soldiers.
The fourth of the critical injured Jawan was evacuated by the army helicopter, he said.
One of them was recognized at the Dinjan Basic Hospital in Tinsukia Assam District, while three other personnel were taken to the Basic Hospital of the Army in Guwahati, said Jamoh.
Six Jawan received a minor injury and sent to Titing by road, he said.
