Ajmer: Starting today, the medical and health department will begin vaccinations for children aged 15-18 years in this district.
About 1.34 lakh students from various government and private schools in the district have been identified for vaccination drives.
The list provided by the district education department includes 72,000 boys and 61,000 girls.
The district has received around 30 thousand doses of covaxin vaccination from Jaipur.
The Ministry of Health team will visit every school to vaccinate children in the age group 15-18 years.
Children born after 2007 will not be able to register in the Cowin application.
Chmo KK Soni said that according to the guidelines, each child will get a dose of 0.5 ml.
“We have prepared a team to vaccinate children from this age group in nine blocks.
Vaccines will also be given to different dispensaries from the department.
The target is to vaccinate at least 20 thousand children in a day,” he said.
However, around 55 thousand students in this age category are not in the list because they have dropped school, work, personally study or in madrasas or have shifted from the district.
Although it is a challenging task for the department to identify children who are not on the list, it follows all possible steps to vaccinate them, said Soni.
The cellular team will visit Door-to-Door to identify these children and vaccinate them in place.
