Around 20K in TN looking for a rte seat in just 4 days

Chennai: With the second wave of Covid-19 claims the lives and livelihoods of thousands of people in the state, more parents seem to be eager to recognize their wards under 25% of seats provided in private schools under the education of academic year (RTE).
In four days since the online application process began, around 20,000 applications have been uploaded on the state government portal for RTE reception.
As many as 1,03,330 seats in LKG and class I are available at 8,300 private schools for 2021-22.
Parents can register rte.tnschools.gov.in until 3.
“As in previous years, the receipt under the quota will be completely online and transparent.
Private schools are marked to GIS maps.
After parents register their address on the portal, school Private in a radius of 1 km from their residence appears on the screen.
Parents can choose a maximum of five schools from the list and send their applications, “an official from the State School Ministry of Education explained.
According to action, private schools need to order 25% of their seats at the recovery rate for children from economically and socially disadvantaged parts.
In the previous year (2020-21), more than one lakh application was received under the RTE quota and 70,300 students were accepted.
“There are more queries from parents for reception this year’s RTE because of a pandemic.
With many people who lose their livelihoods, we expect more applications under the category compared to previous years,” said S Arumainathan, President of State, Tamil Nadu students Association.
He further said the number of private schools that did many systems to choose applicants would also increase significantly this year because of the interest shown by parents.
If the school receives more applications than the allocated chairs, they will attract a lot for random selection in front of parents and officials.
This year the random selection will be carried out on August 10 and students need to join school on August 14.
