Around 24% in HYD has received at least 1 jab, showing data

Hyderabad: In the midst of the third wave indication of Covid-19, quick scanning vaccination data revealed that around 24% of the Hyderabad population had taken at least one shot.
Among them only 6%, however, completed the two doses.
These facts were revealed after the analysis of vaccination data sourced from 10 major cities in India.
According to this data, Visakhapatnam (with 66%), Bhopal (58%) and Bengaluru (50%) are the only country’s capital of which 50% or more of the population has received at least one Covid-19 vaccine (the number is considered until Thursday ).
Other Metros – Mumbai (26%), Chennai (24%), Delhi (24%) and Kolkata (20%) – everything stands below 30% -Mark.
Cities such as Thiruvananthapuram and Lucknow, remain leading with a dose coverage of 49% and 36% respectively.
Interestingly, the capital of Kerala and Visakhapatnam also found to have per-cents of people – each of 21% and 19% respectively – which has taken both doses.
But regardless of differences in numbers, Dr.
Subodh Kandmutan, Professor and Director, Health Care Management Center, the College of India Administrative Staff (ASCI) stated that all countries developed well in vaccine coverage, even though the population was eligible.
“Also, the percentage of this coverage will be at least 10% to 15% higher in each city because vaccine coverage data calculated here is in the total population while only those above 18 years are increasingly piercing,” he said.
Experts also say that there are no specified guidelines to determine what percentage of the population must be borne in what time.
According to Professor Shasshank Tripathi from the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru, vaccine coverage must be increased to save more lives.
“The idea of a herd of immunity is very theoretical and calculated on the parameters such as when static viruses and everyone has the same immune level.
But it is not possible in fact,” he said, adding, “there was sufficient study and examples to determine that two doses of vaccines Provide better protection against mortality in Covid-19 cases.
Therefore, it is better to cover as many populations as possible.
” While the vaccination drive is largely focused on the city – because there is a better acceptance for vaccines – Dr.
Subodh says that this momentum must continue and focus must simultaneously shift to rural areas.
This, he said, will help India achieve 60% up to 70% vaccination in the coming months to avoid the severity of the third wave.
