Kabul: At least 40 Taliban terrorists were killed in several air strikes launched by the Afghan Air Force on Sunday, the State Defense Ministry was confirmed on Monday.
In the South Helmand Province, 14 terrorists were killed and the other two were injured after combat planes targeted a militant in the Garmser district, the ministry said in a statement.
Those among those killed were Mawlawi Hijat, a Taliban commander representative called Sara Keta or the Red Unit for Garmser.
Twenty terrorists died and 35 others were injured when the Air Force targeted the Taliban aggregation in the in-district in the West Nimroz Province, according to the Ministry.
In addition, six terrorists were killed and five others were injured after the Air Force crashed into the Taliban position in the East Kapisa Province Tagab district.
A large number of weapons and terrorist ammunition were also destroyed by the raid, said the statement.
