Arpita Ghosh was appointed as Secretary General of Bengal TMC

Kolkata: Trinamool Congress Friday appointed former member of Parliament of the Party of Arpita Ghosh as Secretary General of the State, two days after the Chairman of Rajya Sabha received his resignation from the top house.
President Unit TMC Subrata Bakshi made an announcement in a letter to Ghosh.
On Thursday, he stressed that the decision to resign when Rajya Sabha MP was taken after intentionally with the top of the party’s top leadership, and it was not forced to him.
The activist theater-politician, which was previously a member of Lok Sabha, said there was a difference between being a member of parliament from the upper house of Parliament and in a lower house.
“When I was chosen to Rajya Sabha, the Covid-19 pandemic began and I did not get many opportunities to give as a parliamentary member.
I think I will concentrate more on organizational affairs now, and devote more time to my desire.

His resignation was received by the Chairperson of the Upper House and Venkaiiah Naidu vice-president on Wednesday.
Ghosh was chosen to be Rajya Sabha in March 2020 after he lost to the Balurghat constituency in the 2019 Lok Sabha poll.
