SRINAGAR: A detained Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist awakened at a police interrogation room having a snatched AK-47 rifle had been gunned down by security forces in Srinagar’s Tral ancient Thursday, capping a stunning 12-hour succession of events which had begun with him catching a constable’s weapon at the midst of a grilling session along with shooting several rounds to ship half a dozen cops running on cover.
IGP (Kashmir range) Vijay Kumar stated the Imperial terrorist, Muhammad Amin Malik, has been contested in the Special Operations Group’s foundation in Tral, approximately 45km from Srinagar, on Wednesday afternoon if he lunged in constable Amjad Khan, grabbed his Kalashnikov gun and opened fire extinguisher.
While Amjad was seriously hurt in the assault, a colleague who shot a bullet into his torso was rescued by his bulletproof vest.
Since Amin locked himself in the area, each effort for him to concede was greeted with a hail of bullets till he seemingly ran out of ammunition.
He refused to offer up himself at the temptations of his mum, the IGP said.
“Sensing grave threat into the lives of these police employees and also to Amin himself, his own mom and a executive magistrate were attracted on the website in an effort to convince him to throw off the weapon and give,” the authorities said in an official announcement.
“After failing to make sure his successor, the terror tact was participated in a gunfight, after the principles and SOP of these involvement, and had been neutralised.” Amin was detained on May 30 with ammunition, arms, explosives, nine telephones and other things used to create improvised explosive devices.
Known to be an older Hizbul hand, he also was detained once in 2003.
His brother Shabir Malik, a part of this terror outfit Ansar Gazwat-ul-Hind, has been killed in an encounter with security forces in 2019.
J&K authorities have staged an inquiry into potential procedural lapses and dereliction of duty through Wednesday’s interrogation of both Amin, causing the stand-off that surfaced in his murdering the following morning.
“A question panel led by a senior officer was tasked to discover how Amin was able to grab a weapon along with open fire police employees.
The primary responsible individual (constable Amjad) has endured injuries and has been treated in a Srinagar hospital,” a spokesperson said.
“The wounded policeman is going to be contested if he recovers.” The query is going to be finished within a fortnight.
A case is already enrolled at Tral police station along with the slain terrorist body delivered to the police in Srinagar to get medico-legal formalities.
