LONDON / NEW YORK: Auction A Christie’s Token (NFTS) and physical artwork by an 18-year-old transgender artist who fartles whipping $ 2.16 million, said Christie on Wednesday, the latest sign of the taste between the construction of Archain for Blockchain-based assets.
NFT is a form of Crypto assets that use Blockchain to record the ownership status of digital objects, such as images, videos and text.
While anyone can see items, only NFT buyers who have the official status of being the owner.
In an online auction called ‘Hello, I am Victor (cheerful) and this is my life,’ Christie sold five lots with a little, whose real name was Victor Langlois.
Five lots drawing more than 20 biders, representing one year of Seattle-based Langlois life because he found his gender identity and switched from women to men between the ages of 14 and 18.
Langlois was the youngest artist to have sales in Christie’s.
Each lot consists of video art works that are in digital form, sold as NFT, a set of doodles entries, images, and journals from the appropriate year in physical and NFT form, and physical paintings.
“I feel like, often, trans sounds are not heard or not respected, so to have my platform to say ‘Hey see, this is my life and see what we do – it means the world,” said Langlois in an interview.
Sales are the latest in a series of moves by traditional auction houses to embrace NFT, which jumped popularity at the beginning of 2021.
“I think NFTS is the future,” said Langlois, who also has cryptocurrency.
“If you post your art and share it with a digital world, I think to offer a way of collecting to have it as a digital asset is just the next step,” he added.
