Gumla: A bamboo craftsman was killed in an Eid explosion, named a trap by CPI (Maois) to target security personnel, in the chaupal forest under the jurisdiction of the Serengdagia Police Station from Lohardaga Regency and Bishunpur Police in Gumla Regency on Wednesday afternoon.
The deceased has been identified as Supnal Turi (50) from Hesag Village.
Supnal, who came from the traditional Turi bamboo artisan community, went to the forest to collect bamboo when he stepped on Ied.
Lohardga DSP Parmeshwar Prasad said on Thursday, “The victim had gone to the forest to cut bamboo for his work when the explosion occurred.” The Serengdang police station OC Sanni Kumar said, “Supnal stepped over by his left foot, triggered the explosion and killed him in place.
After his family told us about the incident, we restored the body on Thursday.” It was the second IED explosion which caused the victim in Near here.
