Itanagar: People from long-distance administration circles in Arunachal Pradesh have decided to force the ‘lock-lockdown’ in the area for a week considering Spurt in the case of Covid-19, an official said on Friday.
The government did not issue any orders but the people of the Yomcha circle in the Western Lunch District itself decided to observe the kuncian from Friday to 22 July, District Information and Public Relations Officials (DIBro), said Gijum Rope.
The decision was made during a meeting on Thursday where local communities and government officials participated.
Yomcha is about 24 km from Aalo, district headquarters, and has a population of more than 2,000.
The decision was praised by senior officials who said that Yomcha did not have facilities to treat patients who were serious and the evacuation was also difficult during the rainy season.
The Western afternoon district in the last few days recorded 112 fresh Covid-19 cases.
It was decided that the entry and out of everyone and vehicle from or towards Yomcha will be limited, and all shops and other business companies will remain closed for seven days, said the rope.
