Aryan Khan case: NCB about extortion allegations

The NCB Special Investigation Team, who investigated extortion allegations in a cruise ship shipping case could not make any progress but spoke to Independent witness Prabhakar Sail, a senior official said here on Friday.
Deputy Director General of NCB Gyaneshwar Singh, who led the set of five members, said they had recorded a statement of five officials of the Narcotics Control Bureau and the other three so far.
Sailing was among those who accused NCB Zonal Director Sameer Wankhede and other officials from efforts to extort money after drugs were allegedly confiscated from the cruise ship from the coast of Mumbai and the son of Arya Khan, arrested, among others.
Wankhede denied all the charges.
Police Mumbai, who also investigated this accusation separately, has recorded a screen statement for the past three days.
Singh said they tried to contact the screen and also asked the Mumbai Police Commissioner to help as “there was a report in the media that he was in touch with the police and they were examining him.”
“We also appealed to sailing through the media to advance to record his statement and submit evidence because we could not serve his noitage,” NCB officials, added that the team also contacted his relatives.
“I hope he can join the question and give his valid statement because he is our most critical witness and without him it is impossible to achieve any conclusions,” Singh said.
The NCB team will also move the court to ask permission to question K P Gosavi, another witness in the case of cruise ship medicines who are now in police custody in the case of cheating, he said.
Asked whether Aryan Khan would also be called for an investigation, Singh said everyone he needed to be questioned would be called, but he could not talk about certain individuals.
