As a drop request, BSL Curtails O2 supply to 11 states

Bokaro: Because Covid-19 cases have decreased significantly throughout the country and oxygen demand has fallen, Bokaro Steel Limited (BSL) has limited liquid medical oxygen supply to 11 states.
Head of Communication of BSL Manikant Dhan Dhan, “BSL has been supplying 7,375 MT of liquid medical oxygen to 11 states when the second wave of pandemics is at its peak in May.
But now the request has fallen and last month, BSL must supply only 601mt oxygen to three states – Bihar (105 MT), Uttar Pradesh (210 MT) and Madhya Pradesh (80 MT).
“After the direction of the Union of the Ministry of Steel, all five units of the Indian Steel Authority Limited had shifted their liquid oxygen for medical use.
BSL must supply oxygen to Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Assam, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.
Of the 11 countries, the highest amount of oxygen was supplied to rise (5,381 mt) via a special train.
Bihar received 4,092 Mt, Madhya Pradesh needed 2,203 MT, Punjab 1,400 MT and West Bengal got 1,099 mt.
Oxygen from the BSL plant is sent every day through rails and roads.
Some Cryogenic tankers were flown by the Indian Air Force cargo aircraft from Birsa Munda International Airport Ranchi.
PSU also provides free oxygen to a government and private hospital in Bokaro.
