Panaji: Goa is now among several states in this country to offer a bed program in special education, which is also supported by the government so that students can continue with subsidized costs.
Due to the implementation of national education policies (NEP) began in this country, this program will increase resource room settings in ordinary schools, as required by the policy.
NEP mandates the inclusion of special children in the mainstream through resource space in ordinary schools, and prevents separate schools, except in their case with acute defects.
The bed in the special education offered in Goa is to equip teachers with training in teaching special children and ordinary children, while also preparing training participants to promote inclusion.
In accordance with NEP’s needs with the current bed program in its place, Goa moves to limit the role of special schools in the future to only register students with acute disability.
The two-year bed in special education courses has 20 seats offered to start with Dnyanvardhini Divyang Training College, Vasco.
The formation of the research center is also in the attack to promote further studies in this field.
“Given the NEP requirements, the state has supported the bed in a special education program, which focuses more on integrating special children in the mainstream and Ded in special education offered at Sanjay School has been offered with narrower skills.

At present, you often see that school allows children to continue until they reach class VIII or more and then these children are forced into special schools, so that regular schools they can reach A good percentage of pass on the council exam.

The bed in a specialized education program is affiliated with the University of Goa and is recognized by the Indian Rehabilitation Board (RCI).
“This course also has a component of research and statistics so that students can pursue research in the area in the future and they can also regulate entrepreneurship businesses such as repair centers for children with special needs and centers to provide special needs to adults with special needs,” Sinha said.
Former Dean of the Faculty of Education of the University of Goa Allan Abreu, who is now associated with College in Vasco, said the receipt for this program will be through the entrance test.
“According to the RCI Law, it is a criminal violation to have a regular bed or teaching the DED program holder in a special school or special children.
On the settlement of the bed program, students will get RCI registration,” Abreu said.
