Noida: With most offices ranging from NCR, noida residents now demand that the NMRC Metro train must stop at all stations for the convenience of passengers.
The population has also requested Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) to improve feeder services and other transportation options for the last miles connectivity in the city.
Metro Aqua Line NMRC has run like a fast train without stopping in nine of the 21 stations because of fewer legs.
The tenth station that was opened back to use only last week was the Sector Station 81.
Station in Sector 50, 101, 83, 143, 144, 145, 146, 147 and 148 was still passed during rush hour.
The average run time of the Aqua line station from the 51 sector to the Depot Station in Greater Noida is 45 minutes and 43 seconds, which is reduced to 36 minutes and 40 seconds by skipping this.
Officials say that most of these stations have almost no footsteps without passengers at all in many occasions.
Skip these stations saves time for commuter and resources for NMRC.
However, footsteps have increased in recent months and daily passengers have passed the 11,000 mark now.
On Monday, Aqua Line saw a record high of 11,419 commuters after restarting the operation on June 9.
Residents say that with increasing footsteps, all stations must begin again now.
“Many people cannot use the nearest metro station because they do not work.
In recent months more people also settled in the sector and 14x station from the sector 143 to 148 must also be started now,” said SK Jain, a resident and founder of the Foundation Progressive Community.
He added that the city did not have public transportation that was suitable for residents, forcing them to travel with private taxis, tricycles or using their private vehicles.
Metro Aqua Line has not been connected to the Metro Line Blue DMRC, which connects Delhi and Noida.
“Because of this, people cannot use the Metro Noida operated by NMRC correctly.
There are many daily commuters who travel from Noida and Greater Noida to Delhi but cannot use the metro because it is too complicated to change several times and use different modes,” said Amit Gupta, a resident of sector 77.
He added that since people were forced to use private vehicles and taxis, it also added to the level of NCR high pollution.
Residents have written to NMRC and the head of the minister who asks that people in advanced sectors around the metro station must be given facilities to reach the metro station using the bus feeder.
In addition, the pying bus on different routes operated by NMRC must be regulated back depending on demand from various fields.
NMRC implementing director Maheshwari said, “One station opened last week.
We will review passenger data and receive a call in some time.”
