WASHINGTON: US food and drug instructions plan to allow Americans to get different booster shots from the Covid-19 vaccine than initially taken, the New York Times reported on Monday.
The FDA in September ratified a dose of booster from Pfizer and Covid-19 bionech vaccine partners for those aged 65 years and over and some high-risk Americans.
Regulator Advisor Panel also supports the use of Booster Booster Moderna and Johnson & Johnson’s Covid-19.
The government will not recommend one shot from another, and may note that using the same vaccine as booster if possible preferred, said NYT report, quoting people who are familiar with agency plans.
The FDA refused to comment on this problem.
US health officials have been under pressure to ratify additional shots after the White House announced plans in August for a widespread booster campaign waiting for approval from the FDA and US Disease Control Centers and Prevention centers.
A study by the National Institutes of Health last week showed people who got the Covid-19 vaccine Johnson & Johnson as the first shot had a stronger immune response when driven by vaccines from Pfizer and Modern.
