WASHINGTON: US President Joe Biden spoke with the State Secretary Antony Blinken, Defense Secretary of Lloyd Austin and National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan on the withdrawal of US civil personnel ongoing from Afghanistan, the White House said.
For violating offensive by the Taliban, terrorist groups have succeeded in getting half of 34 provincial capital and now control around two-thirds of Afghanistan, with a full setback for foreign troops only two more weeks.
When the security situation deteriorated in the country, 3,000 additional troops were on their way to Afghanistan to help evacuate as advancing Taliban in Kabul.
“Today President Biden spoke with Blinken Secretary, Austin Secretary, and National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan about sustainable efforts to impose civilian footprint safely in Afghanistan,” White House Tweeted on Friday.
Previously on Friday, Defense Department spokesman John Kirby said that the US did not expect to have more than 1,000 troops left in the country to support diplomatic missions after the evacuation mission was complete.
A spokesman added that the Taliban seemed to try to “isolate” Kabul in an effort to surrender with relatively small bloodshed, as they did with many provincial capital in this country.
When the Taliban competed to control Afghanistan and terrorist groups literally on the doorstep of the Kabul, the US Embassy in the Capital City who was hit by war scrambled to destroy the documents classified and evacuate Americans.
Meanwhile, Kabul Embassy staff have begun to destroy documents and equipment classified.
