As the Taliban swept Afghanistan, India raised the ‘legitimacy aspect’ with Russia

New Delhi: Underwalking Indian concerns before Russia for deteriorating security situations in Afghanistan, Foreign Minister S Jaishankar called for reduction in violence in Afghanistan told developments, there were implications for regional security and stability.
In a meeting with Russian partners, Sergey Lavrov in Moscow, Jaishankar said that who ruled the war that was hit by a war had a “legitimacy aspect” that could not and should not be ignored.
Toi also studied on Friday that the chairman of the Afghanistan from the High Council for national reconciliation responsible for peace talks with the Taliban, Abdullah Abdullah, paid a secret visit to India last week.
Apparently “personal visits” but it was still significant because it came at a time Afghanistan was faced with a dangerous security situation because of the withdrawal of US troops.
The statement occurred on the day, the Taliban claimed that it had now controlled more than 85% of the Afghan region.
While India reportedly had several contacts with the Taliban at the level of security officials, the government firmly denied that the Minister of Foreign Affairs itself had involvement with armed groups.
Taliban, supported by US withdrawal, has convinced foreign missions in Afghanistan that they will not face security issues but India is still worried about the relationship with Taliban rebels.
“In many cases, where there is volatility in the community, we leave people in the country to solve it.
But Afghanistan is a different case,” Jaishankar said at a shared press conference after the meeting.
“For more than 30 years, there are international conferences, there have been groups and formats to discuss how to stabilize and bring peace in Afghanistan and the reason is because it has proven implications for regional security and stability.
So the point now is that we must see violent reduction,” Jaisankar added.
The main concern of the government, as revealed by the NSA Ajit Doval during his visit to Kabul earlier this year, remains the possibility of use of Afghan land by Pakistani-based terror groups to commit violence against India.
Disclosure earlier this year by Afghan authorities that all Taliban leadership is based in Pakistan and that no decisions taken by Taliban negotiators without their suggestions in the peace process add to worries.
