Gurgaon: Haryana State Pollution Control Board (HSPCB) has collected samples from bandhwari-to-energy-to-energy factories after green activists accused that leachate waste, which had accumulated behind the plants, seeping into groundwater.
Plants, environmental claims, have polluted ground water for some time now and pose a threat to wildlife and people living in the nearest area.
According to the HSPCB report, Leachi samples are collected from the TPA Bandhwari in the second week of August containing chemicals that exceed the permitted limits and toxic substances.
“We collected samples from three ponds near the bandhwari factory on September 18,” said a HSPCB official.
But the results are waiting for.
More than 1,100 tons of solid waste from Gurgaon and Faridabad are disposed of in bandhwari every day.
Vaishali Rana Chandra, an activist, who with wildlife staff and pollution board when ground water samples were collected, said, “HSPCB collected leachate samples flowing out of aircraft waste to araba.” According to Chandra, the release of untreated leachate and other waste at the landfill location in Aravalis led to a serious health hazard for people in neighboring Gurgaon and Faridabad cities, because they were at higher heights along the area of groundwater and water charging land.
“On August 12, on the basis of my complaint, HSPCB officials had collected leachate samples from three places in landfills and also from Lindpool Lindi immediately outside the landfill in Jungle Aravalis.
Lindi testing reports, which were available to me on August 28 by August HSPCB, clearly talking about the parameters are on the higher side in terms of serial no 5 and 6, zero [biological oxygen demand] and respectively.
Even ammonacal nitrogen [poisonous pollutants] is also on the higher side.
This report shows Lindi Which is very toxic and untreated who is being dismissed in the forest, “Chandra said.
