Mumbai: Minister of Public Works Department Maharashtra (PWD) Ashok Chavan has tested positive Covid-19 on Thursday.
This is the second time he has tested positive infections.
He was present at the State Cabinet meeting on Thursday in the meeting room at Mantrallaya when he received his exam report.
He immediately left the meeting and qualified himself at his residence.
An official said that Chavan was in Nanded, his hometown for the past few days and had attended public meetings and was scheduled to attend media interactions in Goa on Friday and he had provided wiped for testing on Thursday morning.
The antigen test came negatively but was on the safe side, he also took the RT-PCR test.
Chavan brings to social media to confirm that he has tested positively and has appealed to everyone who might come in his contacts to monitor them.
“He is asymptomatic and alright,” said an official.
One month ago, nearly 13 ministers of cabinet had been tested positive in the state and also more than 50 MLA was influenced during the Vidhan Sabha winter session.
Many cabinet ministers such as Walse Walse Patil and Varsha Gaikwad have been infected twice.
