ASI to remove HaldieGati plaque claims ‘Retreat’ shutter

Jaipur: The Indian Archaeological Survey (ASI) will remove the plainsya in the taro rakta in Rajsamand stating the Pratap Maharana troops withdrew from the Battle of HaldieGati and Badshahah Bagh, which was named Mughal Emperor Akbar.
The battle struggled between Pratap and Akbar in 1576.
The decision to remove plaque was taken after demands by the Rajput organization in the state.
ASI has directed the country’s unit to replace controversial plaque with “accurate narratives” of the battle.
Rajsamand MP Diya Kumari and Rajsamand Mla Deepti Maheshwari has increased demand with former Minister of Tourism and Culture of the Prahlad Union Singh Patel.
The State Minister for State for Arjun Ram Meghwal told TII, “the command that removes plaques has been issued.
This is based on historical facts.” Confirming Development, ASI Circle (Jodhpur) Superintendent Bipin Chandra Negi said they had received instructions to remove plaque.
“Plaques have factual inaccuracies such as the date of the wrong battle and some statements that can be debated or controversial.
It will be immediately removed,” Negi said.
The ASI office has written a letter to the Rajasthan tourism department who tells them about its development.
The two sites were under the state and plaque governments placed by the State Tourism Department in 1976 during the visit of the former PM Indira Gandhi.
Then in 2008, the monument was taken over by breast milk.
Negi said they had prepared a note to be written on plaque and will be sent to the headquarters for approval.
“It will include lines such as Pratap struggling for self-esteem and chief horse making the highest sacrifice.
Prupose from fresh plaque is to highlight the importance of places and events.
The controversy has nothing to do with the greatness of Maharana Pratap,” Negi said.
NCERT books mention the date of the battle of HaldieGati on June 18, 1576, while the date mentioned in plaque is June 21, 1576.
Inscriptions on placards in English and Hindi in taro rakta – “Pratap Troops backward” and “Pratap” and “Pratap to Sena Ko Peeche Hatna on “- triggered controversy after a historical professor at Meera College, Chandra Shekhar Sharma, raised objections, supported by several Rajput organizations.
“Historical holder is corrected.
This will provide the right image for future generations,” Sharma said by telephone from Udaipur.
Rajsamand Mla Maheshwari who was just elected during his first official visit to Delhi filed a memorandum to the Minister of Culture Patel.
He said, “I raised the collective emotions and Rajasthan people’s sentiment supported by history.
I am happy that my first intervention as a successful public representative.”
