Ban Chang: Senior Rower Arvind Singh pocketed gold at a mild man’s single sculls while compatriot won three silver medals when India signed from the Asian rowing championship with a high notion here on Sunday.
Arvind Lapfrogged his opponent with 7: 55.942s.
Arvind, who was finished 11th at the Tokyo Olympics together with Arjun Lal JAT in a light man’s double sculls, defeating his rival from Uzbekistan, China, Vietnam, Indonesia and Thailand.
India draws curtains on the championship with three more silver medals – in a lighthous men’s double scull, a quadruple sculls man and on four coxless men events.
Overall, India ended back from a continental event with two gold medals and four silver.
In a mild men’s double rider, Phugat Ashish and Sukhjinder Singh won silver with 7: 12,568, while in the quadruple men’s class, Bittu Singh, Jakar Khan, Manjeet Kumar and Sukhmeet Singh were second in photo clocking-finished, 6 : 33: 661s, gold loss of 0.523 seconds.
Jasveer Singh, Punit Kumar, Gurmeet Singh and Chararjeet Singh won another silver with 6: 51,661 in the final of the four-final coxless man.
