Guwahati / Shillong: The Assam and Meghalaya cabinet on Wednesday approved the disputed land division formula to complete the 50-year-old border range in six of the 12 points of difference, paving the way for two CMS to submit a previous decision of the home minister Union Amit Shah on Thursday .
The six disputes were taken to resolve on the first phase cover around the 36.8-SQKM area where 18.51 SQKM was proposed to be under Assam and the remaining 18.28 SQKM under Meghalaya.
Assam CM Himanta Buswa Sarma said, “The formula is based on recommendations by three regional committees and agreed at a cm meeting in six disputed areas approved by the Cabinet to resolve border disputes.
Tomorrow, MeMalaya CM Conrad Sanagma and Meghalaya I will tell Minister of Internal Affairs Shah from our decision and will urge the Indian government to take the next step to resolve the constitutional border disputes.
“Resolution for the six fields of difference from 12 along the limit of Assam-Meghalaya is expected to arrive on January 21 when Meghalaya will celebrate the 50th year of state.
In Shillong, after the Meghalaya cabinet meeting, Sangma said, “because the two countries have 100% approve the report, we will submit more orientful general reports to the Minister of Compatibility and then I think the Indian government must move according to the law and bills to be included.” He added, “Even though it happens, administratively the two countries will discuss further further, so we can approve the village but limit the border, this is aspects that are in the provisions of parliament.
