Assam: Akhil Gogoi Looking for Rs 100 Crore to Develop Historic Sivasagar

Guwahati: Farmer leader Akhil Gogoi has raised the request of the RS 100 Crore package to change the historic Sivi Basic into tourism and cultural center.
Sivasagar MLA and Raijor Dal President said the RS 100 Crore investment could provide RS 1,000 Crore Return to the State Government.
He spoke in the Assembly.
Sivasagar was named one of the five places in this country which will be developed by the Modi government as an iconic site.
The upper city of Assam was a testimony for the noble 600-year-old rule of the AHOM dynasty, whose reviewers came from South China and ruled most of Assam until England’s arrival in the 19th century.
Akhil himself belongs to the Ahom community and he nominated by his party from a prestigious chair with high hopes.
“To protect, preserve, and the beauty of the Sivasagar legacy site, it must be declared as a state heritage site or the city of heritage,” he said.
He said if the state government stated that Sivasagar as a state inheritance city, it could open the way for UNESCO to declare it as a inheritance city.
Akhil said under the provisions of Protection, Preservation, Preservation and Maintenance of Assam Heritage (Tangud), 2020, somewhere can be expressed as a legacy site.
Together with many monuments of the AHOM era, the Grave of the Ahom Kings and Queens pyramid style has attracted researchers from abroad to the district.
Akhil shows the importance of these sites, by saying cremation techniques in Maidam or this grave are comparable to those adopted in pyramids in Egypt.
Some buildings and locations in Sivasagar are protected under the laws imposed by the center and state government in the view of the importance of places in terms of archeology.
Akhil, however, is Rued that limited funds released by the government for the preservation of this historic monument.
Given the expansion of urban areas in the city of Sivasagar, he said it has become very important to maintain the integrated plan of Sivasagar, including extensive rice fields around the monument, intact.
Bimal Bora’s cultural minister agreed with Akhil, and said Sivasagar had the potential to become a world heritage site.
However, he said Rs 100 Crore was not enough to fully develop Sivasagar.
“Our government is committed to doing more than what can be done with RS 100 Crore,” said Bora.
Gargaon Palace, Rang Ghar, a group of four Maidam, Chanaideo, Talatal Ghar and Wisnu Dol are four sites in the not divided Sivasagar district that are under the supervision of breast milk.
Surrounded by human settlements, historical monuments facing the threat of encroachment.
