Guwahati / Lakhimpur: Sadness and anger flowing from Lintas Assam on Thursday after a student surrendered in an injury in a machete attack by heroic boyfriend, which was a non-teaching staff in college.
Nandita Saikia, a BA student in Moridhal College in the Dhemuji District, was attacked by Sharma when she returned home from college on Saturday, police said.
Saikia’s friend and friend’s father were also injured in the attack, they said.
Saikia, a resident of Dhakuakhana in Lakhimpur, was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Dibrugarh where he died on Wednesday night, police said.
In the video shot meant after the attack, Sharma was seen with machetes, claiming that Saikia and his family “ruined my life despite doing everything for him”.
He was arrested by the police immediately after a crime along with weapons.
Moridhal College students said they had an affair for some time, but Saikia wanted to break up for the reasons known by them.
This, Sharma’s anger, who was fourth grade staff at Moridhal College, and he tried for some time to convince him not to leave him, they said.
When news of his death broke, people were taken to social media, expressing their sadness, while many clothes demanded the way demanding “extreme punishment” to be accused.
