Guwahati: The Government Assam will turn to Assam Baibhav, the highest civilian award of the country to Industrialists and philanthropic Ratan Naval Tata, although he will not attend a sparkling ceremony to be held in Guwahati on Monday.
Present at the event, he was very touched by the state government’s decision.
“Thank you for understanding my inability to personally receive awards in the function that will be held in Guwahati on January 24 and for your willingness to present it to me later on Mumbai,” said the procedure for the Head of Assam Minister, Himanta Bustwa Sarma a letter .
“It’s fun to meet you and our office can work together to find the appropriate date for such a meeting,” read the letter.
Tata said he had become an admirer with Sarma’s personal commitment to the welfare of the People’s Assam and called it an extraordinary honor to receive awards from the minister’s chairman.
In December last year, Sarma announced the state government’s decision to provide Assam Baibhav to the Chairperson of Tata Trust.
