Assam: Burned Books, Dholpur Students Come to School Hands Blank

Guwahati: A bad presence marks the first day in elementary school on Tuesday in Assam after five months of closing due to the threat of overhanging Covid-19.
Fear of contracting infection is a possible reason why many guardians don’t send their wards to school.
But children who were evicted in Dholpur in Darrang the lower Darrang district, whose families were recently expelled from their homes, very enthusiastic to return to their classrooms.
They turned out to be in large quantities with new hopes in their eyes.
The four government-managed elementary schools were closed in Dholpur because this area was hijacked for the state agricultural project which forced the administration to carry out a massive evicver drive to make the area free of encroachment last month.
Six local teachers, who were appointed here, were shifted to five nearby schools in Dholpur who had not faced the bulldozer.
Teachers who come to these schools from the outside have been attached to schools around the city of Sipajhar.
Rofiqul Islam, a resident number 3 Dholpur, who is the head of the Pacchim Suba LP principal, which is still in the midst of debris in Dholpur, cries when he met his students in New School, Dakshin Dholpur LP School.
“Books, notes, and uniforms of many of my students are broken or burned during the eviction.
Some come empty-handed to their new school with me on the first day,” Islam said.
For students from Dholpur, sharing textbooks and study material in a narrow classroom is not a problem.
Abida Khatun, a class V girl, said, “For the days we missed the class.
There is no room to study in crowded camps.
School is our best choice.” Dholpur does not have an electrical connection, although the government has several elementary schools and three basic health care facilities.
Islamic houses are also excavated on the last evic drive.
He has been shelter in the nearest area since then and it is uncertain about the guardian’s decision if they will continue to send their children to school.
But Islam was surprised to see as many as 70 students from the previous school came to Dakshin Dholpur School.
“Overall, more than 100 students came to my new school on the first day.
They are committed to students,” he added.
From Majahlsuba LP School in Dholpur, Teacher Abdul Aziz has been transferred to LP Kamarchar school.
Aziz said they encouraged the guardian to keep their children busy with education.
“Eviction is a harsh reality so students witness at a soft age.
But we motivate guardians to think about their future.
We are tasked with serving them,” Aziz said, who also took refuge with the evictees.
The government is preparing to welcome around 50 elementary school students on Tuesday.
However, a little presence in most schools.
“But above the top primary (class VIII to VIII) the response is good.
More students go to rural bags.
Overall, 25 to 30 percent of students join today’s class in Morigon,” said the Basic Education Officer of the Morigaon District, “the officer said Morigaon’s basic education, “Buli Gogoi Bhuyan.
