Assam Bypolls: Gandhis, Veteran AICC Lost from the Star Campaign List

Guwahati: The next October 30 in Assam for five seats could not see leaders from the Gandhi family or Veteran leader from AICC to come here and campaigned.
There was no confirmation among BJP, one of the national level leaders who came here to campaign.
Inner people in the Country PCC said the leadership of the Congress seemed to have ‘damaged’ the importance of the election by Assam.
When contacted, President Assam PCC Bhupen Borah admitted that there was a request for a rope at the Sonia Gandhi Congress President, Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi.
But in the list of star campae distributed by AICC with the Indian Election Commission (ECI), only three names feature leaders from outside the country.
Among the 20 in the main campaign list was Secretary General AICC and Assam In-Charge Jitendra Singh, Secretary of AICC Prithviraj Sathe and Vikas Upadhyay.
“We wrote to AICC who was looking for the presence of Gandhis.
But AICC inform us that Sonia-ji, Rahul-ji and Priyanka-ji usually did not come for a conflicting campaign,” Borah said on Saturday.
Chhattisgarh cm Bhupesh Baghel is a leading campaigner in the latest assembly elections in the state.
But at this Bypoll, Borah said all CMS Congress was busy in their country.
In some other states, the list of Congress displays some of the most prominent G-23 leaders and Kanhaiya Kumar, who recently joined the Congress.
In Assam, there is no old Warhorse who will pioneer the campaign that will get steps immediately after Durga Puja.
Except for Bhaskar Dahal, which has become a media panelist and Secretary of PCC Assam, another congressional nomination is the district level or assembly leader.
The state PCC president said they would take advantage of the celebration season to conduct a door-to-door campaign led by their grassroots leaders.
“In a chair like Thowra and Mariani, our leaders who turned out to be Turncoats did not allow other leaders to get excellence.
But we have confidence in our dedicated workers in this election,” Borah added.
Jitendra Singh clarified that AICC wants local leadership to lead the campaign.
“Local leadership has more traction with these people,” he said.
ASSAM spokesman BJP Pabitra Margherita, “If no one from the BJP National leadership comes to campaigning for Bypolls, it will mean that our alliance will definitely win.
But the Biggun Congress did not come here afraid of losing,” he said.
