Guwahati: The State Cabinet on Wednesday approved the Constitution of the Assam Youth Commission, which would give youth platforms to register their complaints, in addition to preparing them for national level competitive exams.
The Commission also aims to protect the interests of the country’s youth inside and Assam outside, to give them jobs and training for skills development.
The Cabinet agreed that the election rules were changed from Guwahati Municipal Corporation and other city councils to replace ballots with EVMS in elections on civilian bodies, which are likely to be held soon.
The Cabinet also approved Assam’s handicraft policy, 2022 to facilitate growth.
And the development of craft-based industries and provide training and technology support to craftsmen and employers, and to provide market relations and online marketing support to facilitate product exports.
This policy also provides financial assistance once up to RS 30,000 for all craft units that are eligible for the development of web portals or applications for their online product marketing.
