In his first interaction session with DFOS, the minister’s chairlers underlined the important role played by DFOS in protecting forest land and resources.
He called for a complete transparency and maximum dedication in doing his job to maintain the green cover and flora and fauna rich in the country.
Elimination of corruption practices from the Forestry Department is one of the main priorities of the state government, he said.
Emphasizing the need to maintain free land forests from encroachment, Sarma directs the Ministry of Forestry to ensure that no new encroachment takes place on the country in the country while going for systematic evictions.
He directs the department to maintain strict vigilance and act quickly to prevent encroachment activities.
He added that ways must be explored to utilize and utilize minerals outside of forest areas to get income by the department.
Extracting minerals outside of forest areas without causing damage to the environment must be prioritized by the department, he said
