Assam: Congress condemned shooting during evictions in Darrang

Guwahati: The opposition parties blamed the Assam government for carrying out the eviction drive in Darrang on Thursday, making hundreds of families lose a pandemic place during a pandemic.
PCC PSAM in a statement said it drove away from their residence during a pandemic was a violation of the Supreme Court direction.
President Assam PCC Bhupen Borah strongly condemned the police opening fire on resident demonstrators in the Dholpur area in Sipajhar during the trip, carried out by the Darrang Regency Government and the police.
Two people died, while several others, including the police, were injured in clashes.
“The eviction action was inhuman, especially during Covid.
The Supreme Court has also provided direction of the eviction.
But the Government of Assam, led by CM Himanta Buswa Sarma, still insisted, behaving autocratically to expel the dholpur residents who have lived in the area since the year seventies, “Borah said.
Before the merging of the drive was launched, the Congress said the government should regulate their alternative rehabilitation and housing for families whose homes were destroyed to start the state agricultural project in Garukhuti in Darrang.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi tweeted, “Assam is in a state-sponsored fire.
I stand in solidarity with our brothers and sisters in the state —- – No children in India are appropriate.” Even when Mangaldii MP and Secretary General BJP, Dilip Saikia, advise families, which are presented for eviction notifications, to switch to ‘areas intended for them’, Congress asks, “Without alternative arrangements for land and housing, where these poor people go and how they will survive ? “Assam is in a state-sponsored fire.
I stand in solidarity with our brothers and sisters in the state – no children …

AIDF Secretary General Aminul Islam demanded that Rs 50 Lakh be paid to their died relatives and Rs 20 Lakh to injured.
“We demanded the CBI probe into the incident.
The police could use rubber bullets and water cannons to control the situation but people were shot in the chest,” Islam said.
“We demanded 6 BIGHA cultivation land and one BIGHA housing plot for each family evicted,” he said.
The Kristi Mukti farmer organization Samiti Samiti (KMSS) alleged that Assam was on the verge of being the ‘state-ruled state’ during the current government of the BJP leadership government.
The Raijor Dal, led by Akhil Gogoi, is also called evictions in the Muslim region inhabited by Garukhuti as ‘communal prejudice’.
“Expel family without planning to rehabilitate them against human rights,” said Publicity Secretary KMSS Ratul Hussain.
