Guwahati: Unit Assam Congress on Thursday filed FIR against Padma Shri Awardee Kangana Ranaut for allegedly making a statement of slandering against Mahatma Gandhi and other freedom fighters.
In FIR, the Congress Committee Assam Pradesh said the freedom in 1947 was obtained due to Gandhi’s sacrifice and thousands of martyrs.
The party said the statement by Ranaut actor was an insult to great souls.
“The statement has hurt people in this country and the family of Assam’s freedom fighters,” said FIR.
PCC PCC has asked the police to “take the necessary actions according to the law to immediately order actors”.
