Assam Congress Marches to Raj Bhavan, seek judicial investigation into telephone tapping

Guwahati: The Assam Congress issued a march protest to Raj Bhavan here on Saturday, as allegedly spying on illegal through Spyware Pegasus.
In accordance with the call given by the Congress Committee throughout India for the national protest stage, PCC Assam issued a general meeting with a call to institutionalize the judicial investigation monitored by the Supreme Court for the alleged scandal.
Out of MP Rajya Sabah Ripun Bora said the alleged telephone-tapper even beyond the watergate scandal and accused the mod to violate the privacy of the community illegally.
“Spyware Pegasus has been sold to the government, not for private companies.
It has been purchased from Israeli companies by 48 countries and India is one of them.
It is clear that the Modi Government is behind the scandal in India,” Bora said.
He accused that instead of using spyware to overcome external threats and terrorist activities, it was used to steal information from opposition leaders.
“It’s harmful to democracy,” Bora said.
Congress demanded the resignation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Minister of Houses Uni Amit Shah.
Opposition leader, Debabrata Saikia, accused the government to tighten snares in civilians in a free country.
