Guwahati: The Assam Legislator Congress on Monday announced his support to the Government led by BJP in the country “for development” without resigning from his party.
This step is referred to as “exemplary” by Minister of Himanta Minister Buswa Sarma.
Even though Sashi Kanta Das, the legislator of the constituency of Raha, was welcomed in his strange role by Sarma, the Congress leaders were shocked by the shell.
“Sri Sri PM @ narendramodi, the vision of development, Hon MLA from Raha from @incindia Sri Sashi Kanta Das has promised its commitment to support the Government of Assam politically.
This is exemplary and will strengthen governance.
I & BJP Assam President @bhabesh_kalitar Hail,” Sarma tweeted.
Unit President Assam Sarma and BJP Bhabesh Kalita welcomed the watershed in the cm room in the assembly complex while the house was underway.
“Das decided to join the government to develop the constituency of Raha from where he was chosen.
It was not decided whether he would join our political parties,” Sarma said, added, “He will continue to remain MLA Congress and not resign from it directly.” When asked if the waters will be formed now at the BJP legislative party meeting, Sarma said, “Sometimes, he will sit in our room.
But inside the house, he will sit with Congress (on the opposition).” When asked whether the Bypoll will be needed, Sarma said, “There are two systems.
The first election will occur in some constituencies and the second will not be a bypoll.
But the opposition will work with us.”
