GUWAHATI: Assam cabinet on Wednesday advocated against conducting state board exams for course X, higher madrassa and course 12 because of Covid-19 scenario, but the last decision will be taken by the education division in consultation with all the stakeholders Friday.
Approximately 4.4 lakh students are advised to show up at course 10 (HSLC) along with higher madrassa examinations while approximately 2.5 lakh others have been enrolled for the course 12 examination below the condition boards.

The cupboard’s recommendation came two weeks following four pupils of the nation committee filed a petition at the Supreme Court seeking an order for cancellation of their state board exams to be able to keep equality with pupils below CBSE and other boards, and that have cancelled those assessments and they are being made to look in the examinations from the face of danger to their own lives amid the outbreak.
Health minister Keshab Mahanta at the post-cabinet interview briefing stated,”There are approximately seven lakh students enrolled for the board examinations and also holding the exam is going to lead to massive parties away from the assessment centres.
The cupboard has advised against carrying offline examinations from the present circumstance.
However, it’s only a proposal rather than the last choice.”
Previously, the chief minister had stated that board tests will be kept in mid-July when the Covid test taker speed extends below 2 percent by July 1.
The positivity rate has come down but remains over 2%.
The evaluation rate rate on Wednesday has been 2.6 percent.
Mahanta stated,”Throughout the continuing next wave, we’ve found in May and June, 14.8percent of positive instances are between 0 and 18 decades old and moreover, 10 percent of those infected folks are between 11 and 18 decades old.
In total figures around 25,000 infected men in May and June are between 0 and 18 decades.”
He also added “The cupboard advised that the education department to not hold the examination bearing in mind that this high rate of disease among young folks.”
