Assam: Elephants kill one, hurt the others

Guwahati: A wild elephant who was alone entered a house in Rongbong towards Anglong’s carbi which borders the borders between Goleaghat districts and killed prisoners while injuring Sunday morning.
This was the second death in an elephant attack in Assam within 15 days because someone was trampled to death by wild elephants in Morongi’s estate outside the reserve forest under the range of Golaghat’s bokial last month.
On Sunday, Jumbo entered Ramnath Bhagat’s house (72) at 3.30 in the morning and hurt him and a worker named Paresh Karmar (35) who lived with him.
Karmakar gave up on his wounds on his way to SKK Civil Hospital in Golaghat while Bhagat had shifted to Jorhat Medical College and Hospital.
