Guwahati: The alarm bell rang over a fresh Covid infection report in several schools in the Absam Above Sivasagar District both in rural and urban areas.
The state government then makes it mandatory for all employees, including pregnant women, to attend class.
Detection of Covid cases at Sizasagar School is more worrying than schools in Guwahati, said source in the Ministry of Education.
Since Thursday, around 40 school students have found positive Covid in the district where the daily infection rate is far below the capital of Guwahati.
On Monday, at Barpatra Dol Uccha Vidyalay in Sivasagar, 15 students found positive Covid.
In other schools, one student tested positive on the same day.
With this, students and teachers have obtained Covid infection in four schools in Sivasagar in the last five days.
Sivasagar Deputy Commissioner Meghi Nidhi Dahal, however, told toi that new cases detection revealed the true picture of several bags in the district.
“Since students from different families come to one school, randomized testing will help us detect Covid cases in the area where the school is located.
Considering the current situation, we plan to conduct a Covid test on all teachers this week,” Dahal said .

Some schools in Guwahati reported several positive cases of this month, although there were no such reports received in the city in the last two days.
In Nagaon Regency Central Assam, Covid infection has been reported in Junior Higher Education recently, while in Assam which is lower as well, some schools remain vulnerable to viral infections.
Despite concern among the guards, senior government officials said they did not need to close all schools in the district any country.
