Guwahati: The Assam government on Thursday canceled the proposed Special Council exam which was proposed for students who were dissatisfied with the evaluation formula presented by two high-powered committees for the X and XII class council exams.

Special examination is proposed especially for students who aspire to appear in the recruitment exam under the state government where substantial weight comes from class X and XII performance.
According to the previous government view, the original advantages of students cannot be assessed without written checks.

“There will be no special council exam this year in Assam.

Sarma held a meeting with Aasu representatives, all Bodo Student Unions (ABSU), and Asom Jatyatabadi Yuba Chatra Parishad (AJYCP) to discuss alternative evaluation methods required by the cancellation of the HSLC and HS exams for Covid -19 Pandemi.
The meeting, held in Janata Bhawan here, was also attended by Puru, Minister of Finance Ajanta Neog and Handloom and Textile Minister UG Brahma.
“After detailed discussions, consensus was reached about alternative evaluation methods,” said Government Liberation.
Furthermore, it adds that the certificate and mark provided under the evaluation formula will apply in applying for higher education and work.
However, the meeting also decided that the equivalent test or equalize could be held for teacher recruitment in schools and colleges if deemed necessary.

AASU’s Head of Advisory, Samujjal Kumar Bhattacharyya, Prakash Das Advisor, President Dipanka Kumar Nath, Secretary General of Sankar Jyoti Baru, President Absu Dipen Bodo, President Ajikp Rana Pratap Baru and Secretary General of Palash Changmai was also at the meeting.
