Guwahati: The Assam government on Friday issued direction to celebrate the 75th Independence Day throughout the country on Sunday with no more than 1,500 people to attend the official functions of the state level here.
The order issued by the Secretary of the Head of Jishnu, in his capacity as Chair of the Assam Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA), will apply throughout the country on August 15, 2021.
Assam has reported below 1,000 Covid cases per day in three consecutive days.
The order stated that the meeting should not be more than 1,500 people in the celebration of state independence day in the open space / fields.
The meeting should not be more than 500 people at the district level while at the sub-division level, it should not be more than 300 people.
In both cases it must be held in space / open fields.
For I-Day celebrations in each location that is turned on, except as mentioned above, the meeting should not be more than 200 people and if there is a closed hall or auditorium, the meeting should not be more than 50 percent of 50 percent of seating capacity 200 people, which are lower.
People / officials involved with celebrations or moving to participate in the celebration of independence day will be released from PurView at night hours and strange vehicle limits.
Covid-19 protocols include covid behavior such as wearing facial masks, social care, sanitation, etc., by all during the ceremony / function must be strictly followed, the order is stated.
The state government has issued the latest direction of containing Covid -19 in the state on August 9 for urban and rural areas that truly prohibit meetings / meetings in open space throughout the state.
