Guwahati: Kameng River Water in the East Kameng Border District in Arunachal Pradesh West, which has turned black with a high level of turbidity on Thursday, gradually returns to the clear form of characteristics.
The river comes from a glacial lake under Mount Gori Chen, south of the McMahon imaginary line divides India and China.
The district authority suspected Mudslide at the top of the Kameng River to be the cause behind turbidity.
A large number of dead water animals, most of the fish, were found floating nearby, East Kameng District Headquarters, triggered panic in the area on Friday night.
The Muddy River has also saved a large number of clay in the bank.
Deputy Kameng Timur Deputy Deputy Commissioner Pravimal Abhishek Poumatla told Toi, “Prima Facie, it seems that high turbidity might be caused by Mudslide in reach of the Kameng River.
We have written to the state government to involve remote sensing agents to investigate the cause of the high volume of mud.
“‘Dip in the O2 dissolved causes Death’he fish to add,” Kameng River comes from our territory and not an international river.
The roots are in the district of Kameng Timur near Mount Gori Chen.
” Even four years ago the river afternoon, which flowed from Tibet as Yarlung Tsangpo and became the main constituent river of the Brahmaputra River in India, has turned black in the eastern part of Arunachal Pradesh and remained in conditions for several days.
Polumatla said the preliminary analysis was conducted by the Department of Fisheries, showing that heavy mud and debri flow had increased the turbidity level of the Kameng river, after the dissolved oxygen level in water decreased significantly.
“The fish was found dead because of anoxia because of the depletion of dissolved oxygen in the water,” he added.
The district authority has issued a coating order that prohibits entering the river for fishing, swimming or bathing.
“We have also forbidden sources or consuming fish to the laboratory confirm that there is no toxic content on the river,” he said.
“We hope that within 24 to 36 hours ahead, the situation will be normal,” DC said.
Kameng Timur Regency, which gets its name from the Kameng River, shares the northern limit with China and has a Tawang district in the west.
