Assam: Lack of seats can change school, college entry chaotic

Guwahati: Lack of seats in higher education and high school in Assam can force thousands of students to pursue higher education through open learning mode and distance.
On a total of around 6.55 lakh students, who cleared the X and XII State Council exam this year, might not be possible to accommodate more than around 3.6 students in class XI and the first year of undergraduate programs.
Although the government has requested universities not to charge fees for online applications, the lack of uniform reception policy can make chaos during the entry time.
“Those who cannot register may have to choose open mode and distance of university education,” said Secretary General (ACTA) Assam College (ACTA), Himangshu Maral.
Students are in a dilemma because the prestigious Cotton University has not opened the receipt process.
In addition, several other leading universities in Guwahati, such as Borooah College, have not completed the date of reception and said they were waiting for several government direction associated with acceptance.
The only relief that might come to students is a free reception in the provincial and government model colleges, although there is no solution that evolved in absorbing all the advantages in higher classes.
The Directorate of Higher Education Assam has proposed the principles of all Pandit Run Run Pandit Upadhyaya Adarsha Mahavidyalaya and government models in the state not to impose any amount in connection with online applications in the middle class and degree in college.
Minister of Education Roman Pegu recently placed responsibility for each university to register students.
However, the lack of clear policy to accommodate all pairs can encourage a large number of students to uncertain future.
All Vice President of the Assam Students, Utpal Sarma, has demanded the government to present a clear picture of the total intake capacity at a higher level and at the bachelor’s level throughout Assam against the number of faint.
“The State Department of Education must clarify the formula to accommodate all students who have fainted,” he said.
With a higher percentage pass throughout the country, many students will fight can receive entrance tickets in the leading state universities since the cut-off in Delhi are expected to be very high this year.
Minister of Education has recently said that in government and provincial colleges, there are around 1.7 lakh seats, although data for private educational institutions is not available with it.
Sources in the Ministry of Education said including the intake capacity of class XI students in government schools, seats in medical institutions, engineering and polytechnics and private universities, a maximum of 3.6 lakh students can be accommodated in the state.
“Even if we leave students going outside the area to learn and those who will not pursue higher education, more than two lakh students are likely to be deprived of revenue in the country,” said Nirangkush Nath, Secretary General of SFI Unit Assam.
