Assam: Marches Congress opposes eviction, looking for a rehabilitation package

Guwahati: Opposition Congress in Assam on Friday held a protest and filed a memorandum to Governor of Jagadish Mukhi, demanding the termination of the eviction of the eviction of the ongoing state-taking government to the right rehabilitation package published for 800 families and villages under the Circle of Sipajhar’s income.

“Kill me, but don’t take my democratic rights to protest injustice,” Bora told the officials at the DC office.
Memorandum, signed by Bora and the leader of the Legislative Party Congress (CLP) Debabrata Saikia, also demanded the second suspension of the Deputy Commissioner Prabhati Thaocene and the Supervisor of the Milk Police Buswa Sarma, the younger brother of Himanta Buswa Sarma and an incident investigation by the judge sitting.
The state government has ordered a judicial investigation into the incident by the Retired Judge of the Gautati High Court despite the name of the judge not yet announced.
The party also demanded that a cameraman and police personnel who were placed and participated in all savage actions must be given a temporary penalty for the victims and those who were injured were quite compensated.
Meeting all parties together with stakeholders must be immediately called to develop strategies and plan rehabilitation and compensation programs for Goroikhuti, Dholpur, and other villages, he said.
“The minister’s chairman, despite holding constitutional positions that have taken an oath to serve and protect all citizens, has behaved by constantly giving provocative statements that worsen the situation,” the leaders accused.
Congress delegation, led by Bora, handed over a memorandum to the governor in Raj Bhavan here.
