Assam, Meghalaya to resolve disputes gradually

In the first phase, the steps will be taken to resolve differences in six locations – Tarabari, Gizang, Fahala, Baklapara, Khanapara (PilingGata) and Agacherra, which are under Cachar Regency, Kamrup and Chronic Metropolitan Assam and the appropriate khasi district, RI-BHOI and Bukit Jaintia Timur Meghalaya.
“After 30 days, when we met again in Shillong or Guwahati, each committee would give their recommendations.
We hope that this regional committee will be able to narrow differences.
If the difference is still there between regional committees, then this problem will be taken at the level of the chairman Minister or at a higher forum level, “Sarma said.
As a measure of good intention, the two main ministers will go to Langpih to guarantee people that complicated problems such as Langpih will be resolved.
Four people were killed and 26 were injured in group clashes and police subsequently opened fire on Langpih in Kamrup Assam Regency on May 14, 2010.
The three cabinet ministers from Assam for the Head of the Committees would be the Minister of Information and Public Relations of Pijush Hazarika, Minister of Agriculture Pijush Bora and Minister Transportation, Chandra Mohan Patowary.
In addition to the Cabinet Minister, the Committee will have MLA, bureaucrats and public representatives.
The two CMS describes the conversation as “very useful” and emits pragmatism and respects each other to resolve the border problem in a time-bound manner.
