Assam: middle class is set to benefit, said CM Himanta Biswa Sarma

Guwahati: The minister’s chairman has called the state budget of 2021-22 as a well-being oriented budget, which will benefit the middle class to most.
He praised the Minister of Finance Ajanta Neog for placing the Crore Rs 1.07-Lakh budget proposal without imposing additional tax burdens.
This, he said, gave a clear outline of his government’s commitment to fulfill promises made for the people.
Sarma underlined the budget proposal to free up loans of microfinance institutions (MFI) to beneficiaries who qualified, work for idle youth, increasing the number of beneficiaries and monthly financial assistance under the Organodoi scheme as very significant.
“The budget imposes a revolution imagined by the government in agriculture because efforts have already taken place to make the ‘Atmanirbhar’ state in agriculture, horticulture, the milk and veterinary sector,” Sarma said.
He said there was an outline in the budget to fulfill the two promises of major polls: to release 26 lakh women from the grip of microfinance loans and one work lakh for unemployment.
Also, Himanta said the beneficiaries of the Organodoi scheme, intended for women in need, will increase to 5,000 in each electoral district with a monthly allocation of RS 1,000 each.
This is award for the mothers from the government, he added.
Sarma further stated that the proposal was made in the budget for electrical connections at every center of Angganwadi, establishing around 1,000 hospitals in rural areas, regardless of the construction of five new revolutionary medical colleges.
The smartphone budget proposal to almost eight class IX and class X students of the government school to solve the online educational barrier came as a pleasant surprise.
Himanta acknowledged that the covid-induced situation caused digital divisions that would paralyze the education system.
He also said free cooked food for the poor city is a welfare scheme that should be exemplary in the budget.
Sarma appreciate the steps announced to add to the generation of income in the budget.
