Guwahati: Police Assam on Thursday restored a large number of drugs and psychotropic substances worth Rs 10 Crore in the international market in the Western destination district Assam.
One Jahangir Alom of Bhalukdubi in the district has been captured in this connection.
He has been charged under the relevant parts of drug narcotics and Psychotropic Act (NDPS).
Providing this information, Director General of Police (DGP) Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta said the drugs were hidden in the basement.
“The house of the person who is accused of also has a mini factory where it makes cough-based cough syrup.
The police recover three machines for labeling and sealing and nine drums (4,000 liters) raw materials to prepare cough syrup.
This is besides, heroin, tables like Yaba, Nitrozepam, Spasmo also recovered from home along with cash, “he added.
DGP said the police also seized excavator vehicles, Van pickup Bolero, Maruti Alto vehicles and electric pedicab from the residence of Alom.
On June 21 at night, the police in the Caratory District of Anglong Assam arrested two Tamil women and a Manipuri together with about three kilograms of smuggled drugs worth Rs 12 Crore in the international market.
The woman who was arrested was identified as Lashmi D and Panjabhiram while the man was identified as Khoiram Basanta Singha.
