Assam: Pre-Puja Vaccination Drive Can Check Virus Spread After Celebration

Guwahati: Health Authority believes that widespread coverage of covid vaccination may have maintained the level of participation in Guwahati in examinations during the celebration of Puja Durga when the physical distance takes place.
The health department’s sources say that Puja organizers will be tested again if the situation demands.
The level of participants has not exceeded 2% in the city but even though people packed a pandal after 10pm when the chart curfew in the state.
Kecatrupup (Metro) Regency has managed to vaccinate more than a percent of the estimated population estimates predicted.
Additional DC Gunajit Roy Choudhury said against the population of 11 lakh 18+ which was previously targeted in urban districts, 13 lakh people were vaccinated with the first dose.
“Covid-19 vaccination must have an impact on the celebration season.
Otherwise we will see thousands of fresh infections,” Dr.
Ganesh Saikia, Director of Joint Health Services, Kamrup (Metro), told toi on Saturday.
Although the covid front level in this country has been under 1% for a long time, during the puja days it passes 1%.
In Kamrup (Metro), the appropriate number was 1.03% on Friday (Vijaya Dashami), 1.75% on Thursday and 1.17% on Wednesday.
However, the health department official still maintains a close watch in the situation because it may take four to seven days for infection to be detected in the body.
“Four to seven days is good enough to identify infection.
We really monitor the situation,” said the Director of the National Health Mission Assam, Lakshganan S, said.
He said that before Durga Puja, the government had pushed hard for vaccination and 1.97 crore people in the state were given the first dose, while 65 lakh 18 plus a fully vaccinated population.
“Vaccination encouragement has helped us examine the spread of the disease.
We hope the people involved in managing pujas are careful,” Lakshman added.
Previously, the Minister of Health of Keshab Keshab Mahanta said that at least one dose of covid vaccine would be required to enter the Puja Durga Pandal.
Directive implementation, intended for worshipers and organizers, is not possible because of the big footsteps in the pandal.
