GUWAHATI: For the first time in more than a month, the daily Covid-19 count in Assam came below the 4,000-mark other than a Sunday.
Usually the daily cases are reported low on Sundays due to lesser testing.
But even after carrying out 1.16 lakh tests on Saturday, a total of 3,781 positive cases were detected.
However, the number of active cases in the state went up from Friday’s 50,765 to 51,403 by Saturday evening.
On the other hand, a total of 3,099 patients were discharged over the past 24 hours.
The positivity rate further declined to 3.26% and recovery rate stood at 86.97%.
While 54 fatalities were recorded on Friday, on Saturday it had come down to 44.
