Assam: school, college is reopened, but a thin presence

Guwahati: Schools and colleges reopened in Assam after four months with adequate precautions, although a low presence was recorded on the first day.
In Guwahati, the presence of less than 50% was recorded at school, while the technical institutions and state universities have not fully functioned.
Technical institutions have been given ahead to start all classes, while the university has been directed at starting the last year class for undergraduate and postgraduate programs.
“Many students live at home because they don’t know what will happen on the first day,” said School Inspector, Kamrup (Metro), Prasnana Bora.
He added most class XII students under 18 and were not vaccinated.
But the majority of teachers have been fully vaccinated.
“More than 95% of teachers, who report to work today, have obtained both doses,” Bora said.
In college too, his presence was not encouraging, but those who attended the class were very enthusiastic.
“In our college, around 30% of attendance are recorded among class XII students and the title of the last year.
Many students missed the class on the first day, hail from the district and still at home.
Hopefully they join us at a few days, “Borooah College Principal said, Sn Barman.
Barman said the physical distance was maintained, classified classes and students came wearing masks.
“The last year students have lost two months of study.
They are happy to return to class,” Barman said.
Gaahati University, Cotton University, Dibrugarh University and several other universities are not open for offline classes on Monday because the hostel is still closed.
However, the last year of class undergraduate and graduate in university universities began in accordance with the instructions of the state government.
Minister of Himanta’s minister could Sarma say if everything passes smoothly until next week, class X will also be opened.
“If there is a possibility that the third wave is soared, the offline class will be closed again,” Sarma said.
Chayanika Dutta, a class XII student from the city, said, “In the market, public places, government offices, life everywhere looks normal.
Most covid curbs.
Have been withdrawn.
So why students must be a loser?” He asked .
The authority of the state disaster management, through SOP, allows the reopening of the physical class for class XII, the last year of undergraduate and last year postgraduate since Monday.
However, at least the first dose of vaccination is made mandatory for all, except for those under 18 years.
