Guwahati: The key conditions for rehabilitating families described from state-owned land in Sipajhar in the Darrang District Assam last September are that the names of the beneficiaries must be part of the updated national list of residents (NRC), the government led by BJP told the jawati of the High Court on Wednesday.

Bilal Ikram, Advice for the Petitioner and Congress MLA Debabrata Saikia, said that aside from the NRC clause, the state has set several other conditions for their rehabilitation that was expelled during the drive of land reclamation.
“One condition is that the family must not have the land.
The state will also verify whether they are affected by erosion,” he said.
Saikia, who is an opposition leader in the Assembly, will submit replacement Roboindis specifically against the expelled conditions must be part of the NRC to qualify for rehabilitation.
NRC, which was unique to Assam, was first compiled in 1951 and was updated and published in 2019 concerning the Supreme Court instruction.
Updated citizenship rolls have not received the APEX court or Registrar General of India’s approval.
Counsel Saikia quoted the Advocate General as a convincing court that the State would not take action for imposition of illegal settlers unless forced to do so.
In mass violence on September 23, the state said the investigation was ongoing to ensure the facts and conditions that lead to the incident and whether each external power or organization was involved in inciting anger.
The division bench made on behalf of the state government in the order was issued on Wednesday.
