Guwahati: Head of Assam Minister Himanta Buswa Sarma on Saturday said that five universities in this country will soon be upgraded to universities in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
He said that the main decision regarding the implementation of the timely NEP in the state will be taken At the next weekly cabinet meeting.

“Nep requires a stand-alone university.
We have three autonomous colleges now, JB (in Jorhat), Lakhimpur and Nagaon Colleges.
