Assam’s Pemuros: Dip on Voter Voters Can Swing Pendulum

Guwahati: Is that the election or disgust for Turncoat? Can be or both as a final voter selector show a 7% decline in Bypolls Assam on Saturday, an indication that can swing the pendulum.
Sources in the election department said a large number of voters might not turn out on the day of polling because they were upset with Turncoats.
“When the winner changed the party on the week after the declaration of the results, some voters did not feel enthusiastic about choosing the same person who was revealed by the other party,” a senior official of the election department told TI as a vote count will begin at 8 I on Tuesday.
He said the candidate who turned the party might not be taken in good light by voters because BJP lowered the three candidates who won the Congress and AIDF tickets in the last assembly poll.
In addition, he observed that a lack of leading leaders in several constituency areas could cause a decrease in the percentage of voting seen.
Senior Congress and opposition leader Debabrata Saikia said, “The decline in selection of voters has indicated that people are not enthusiastic about or hope for new parties.
That is why, despite repeated appeals from the ruling party, a large number of voters do not come out to choose.” PCC President Assam Bhupen Borah claims the victory of Congress in Gossiigaon and Bhabanipur.
BJP President Bhabesh Kalita on the other hand claims that BJP and its allies will emerge in the five seats.
The overall decline in the percentage of voting in five seats has been 7.21%.
Tamulpur assembly segment in the Bodoland territorial area recorded the highest decline – 10.37%.
The head of the election of officers, Assam, Nitin Khade, reviewed the calculation of arrangements with district election officers and said the election authorities had prohibited the victory procession after the calculation in the midst of the Covid situation.
“No more than two people will be allowed to accompany the legitimate winner or representatives to receive a certificate of election from the officers who are regained related,” the Election Office said.
Three layer security settings have been made at the count location.
In the last assembly poll, the Majendra Narizary of the Allies of Congress, Front Bodoland People (BPF), won in Gossiigaon, while another coalition partner, Aiudf Phanidhar Talukdar won in Bhabanipur.
Talukdar, along with Congress Mlaas Sushanta Borghain and Rupjyoti Kurmi then joined BJP and was revealed by the Safron Party from their respective seats.
Both Borghain and Kurmi got a BJP ticket from Thowra and Mariani chairs from where they were chosen for the State Assembly in May on Congress tickets.
